Martin Strohbach is Director Research at
AGT International, Darmstadt, Germany and is responsible for managing AGT’s
research projects and transfer results to AGT’s products and solutions. He is
leading research in the area of IoT platforms, computer vision, and machine learning
on time series data that is currently executed in five H2020 projects
(GrowSmarter, HOBBIT, CPaaS.io, VaVeL and IoTCrawler). Martin has also strongly
been involved in former FP5, FP6 and FP7 projects. He is also contributing to
the development of AGT’s IoTA World Graph, a semantic representation of the
information exposed by AGT’s AI platform. Martin received his PhD in computer
science from Lancaster University, UK in the area of ubiquitous and pervasive
computing in which he developed a distributed rule engine for wireless sensor
devices. He holds an MSc in Computing from Karlsruhe University, Germany.
Martin has filed several patents, published in major conferences and magazines
and led various data management and Big Data technology transfer projects.
Martin has over 15 years of experience in in the field of Embedded Sensing
Middleware, Internet of Things (IoT) and scalable data management systems.
