Jacob Bundsgaard

Mayor
City of Aarhus
Participates in 1 Session

The mayor of Aarhus is Mr. Jacob Bundsgaard. He was born in 1976 in Aarhus. Since 2011 he has been the mayor of Aarhus. Before that, Mr. Jacob Bundsgaard has been working as Councilor for Culture and Citizenship and Councilor for Children and Young People. The mayor of Aarhus is focused on work toward improving the city’s urban sustainability. There is a long tradition of involvement through different channels to bring ordinary citizens close to the decisions that have been very high on the agenda. Because of this, it shouldn’t be a surprise that a focal point of the mayor is exactly the co-creation and involvement of citizens, companies, and relevant stakeholders when developing the city. Top priorities for the city’s citizens are the access to sustainable culture, whilst retaining access to nature and countryside in close proximity. Aarhus has a goal of becoming CO2-neutral by 2030. Another priorities in his program are to create more jobs and to create even better conditions for a good quality of life in Aarhus.
