Presentation

The IoT landscape is a very complex one and the IoT standardisation is no different. However, standards are paying an increased role in the set-up, design and development of the IoT systems. IoT Standardisation is following the evolution of IoT and the technical issues that have to be addressed and resolved. IoT standards are not just providing various communications solutions but address more globally all the issues of interoperability, in particular those related to the handling of massive quantities of data and the coexistence of complex and fragmented data models. Concurrently, new technologies emerge that also have an impact on the way standards are evolving (the example of Artificial Intelligence is the latest illustration). The objective of the Standards Workshops is to address, in a pragmatic manner, the main issues currently addressed by the IoT community.

Reasons to participate

The program is focusing on the main issues under progress at the moment. It is proposing a global assessment of the various topics addressed, points on some specific solutions and provides guidance to those who have to make decisions regarding the choice or the use of existing standards as well as to understand the implications of the evolution of IoT standardisation on their strategies.
