  Biomedical Engineering degree from the University of Genoa, currently Research Team Leader at Softeco Sismat S.r.l (www.softeco.it), he works since 2002 in the Research & Innovation Division (managing the www.research.softeco.it  ebsite) with a focus on research ICT projects related to Content and Knowledge Management and ICT Solutions, mainly in the health, biomedical and bioinformatics context.
He has been involved on a wide variety of research projects, both at European (eContent-Worksafe, eContent-ERDDS, eTEN-EuOrphan, IST-K-Wf Grid, eTEN-EuroWorksafe, eContentPlus-AquaRing, IST-Accessibile, HEALTH-Hypergenes, ICT-TELL ME, DS-ANASTACIA) and at national level (CCSE RSE-SmartGen, FIMSER-GLIMS). He is particularly interested in knowledge formalization and modelling, UI design and usability assessment, Project Management and Team Building, user requirements elicitation and formalization. His experience ranges from user requirements analysis to system architecture design and technical software development (web application in particular), with emphasis on complementary activities such as market analysis and business model planning, dissemination and exploitation, and support to technical and administrative coordination. He is a passionate user of several web frameworks, such as ZK (www.zkoss.org) and Dojo (dojotoolkit.org), and a contributor to their developer communities.
He has also a sound expertise in the preparation of project proposals and in the composition of consortia.
He is currently coordinating the ANASTACIA project (Advanced Networked Agents for Security and Trust Assessment in CPS / IOT Architectures) which received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement N° 731558 and from the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation.
