Dr. Bernard GINDROZ is, since 2014, an independent consultant on Energy, Climate Change, Smart Cities and Communities and Transport, with a special focus on innovation, policies and standardization.
Dr. Bernard GINDROZ is very active in standardization related work, as Chairman of the ISO TC 268 (Sustainable Development of Communities) since 2016, Chairman of the CEN/CENELEC Joint TC 6 (Hydrogen in Energy Systems), Chairman of the new CEN/CENELEC/ETSI Sector Forum on Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities, Chairman of the CEN/CENELEC Sector Forum Energy Management (SFEM), the joint CEN and CENELEC Strategy and Advisory Body on Energy Management, Energy Efficiency and Renewables, since 2008, mapping research, pre-normative and standardization needs in support to EU commitments and strategic targets. He is an active board member of several major Standardization Coordination Groups (smart grids, smart metering, eco-design and energy-labelling).
Dr. Bernard GINDROZ has been involved in Energy and Climate Change related activities for more than 25 years. He has been working for the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) as Regional Director, Head of Industry and innovative technologies Department, Deputy Director Sustainable Cities and Territories and Director Energy, Air and Noise. He was the French National Representative of the European Energy Award (Smart cities related initiative). In 2005, Dr. Bernard GINDROZ joined the French Agency for Industrial Innovation, supporting large innovative technology cooperative projects – state aids -, as Director for Energy, Environment, Transport and Climate Change Programs, advanced manufacturing. He has been active for more than 25 years in International R&D and innovative programs.
Dr. Bernard GINDROZ has a master in Mechanical Engineering, with a back ground on energy and fluid engineering. He got a master in applied mathematics and a PhD in hydrodynamics and multiphase flows. Dr. Bernard GINDROZ has been teaching and leading research programs as Professor in several technology Institutes, engineering schools and at the French Naval Academy.
Dr. Bernard GINDROZ has been an active volunteer member of ASME (International Society of Mechanical Engineering) for more than 25 years, as Nominating Committee Member, New Technology Committee, then chairing District H (Europe, Russia, Israel and Turkey) and more recently chairing the Board on Students Programs. In 2012, he got the prestigious ASME Dedicated Service Award.
Bernard GINDROZ has been nominated in 2009 by the Prime Minister as a full-member of the French Académie de Marine.
