
Andres Upegui is currently Professor in the InIT institute at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, in Geneva (HES-SO - hepia) . He obtained a diploma on Electronic Engineering in 2000 from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), Medellín, Colombia. He joined the UPB microelectronics research group from 2000 to 2001. From 2001 to 2002 he did the Graduate School on Computer Science at the EPFL, and then he joined the Logic Systems Laboratory (LSL) as PhD student. In 2006, he received the title of PhD. from the EPFL for his thesis entitled "Dynamically reconfigurable bio-inspired hardware". Afterwards, he worked as senior researcher and half-time lecturer in the REDS institute at the HEIG-VD in Yverdon, Switzerland. His research interest include reconfigurable computing, bio-inspired systems, and distributed and adaptive embedded systems.
