After completing his studies in history and sports science at the University of Bern Martin Bürki (48) launched his professional career at the Swiss Cancer League, where he worked as head of marketing. Subsequently, he headed the business cooperations and sponsoring of the charity Terre des hommes in Lausanne. During this time he also completed an EMBA.
 
Another station in his career was the Impacta AG in Bern. As chairman of the company he was responsible of the company’s operational management in the advertising industry. From 2002 to 2007 Martin Bürki worked for Siemens Switzerland, with more than four years as Key Account Manager for the SBB (Schweizerische Bundesbahn).
 
Since January 2008 he is a member of the Board of Ericsson Switzerland AG and since January 2011 Martin Bürki acts as Country Manager of Ericsson Switzerland AG. In February 2016 Martin Bürki is appointed to the management of Ericsson in Western and Central Europe.
 
Martin Bürki living in Bern is married and has a daughter and a son. In his spare time he runs various sports and enjoys travelling to remote places.
