Nabil Ouerhani is currently Computer Science Professor at the University of Applied Sciences (HES -SO) at the Haute Ecole Arc Ingénierie since 2013. He is leading a research group named “Interaction Technologies” dealing with Human Computer and Human Environment Interactions.
He obtained his engineering diploma from the Technical University of Munich, Germany in 1998 and his PhD at the Institute of Microtechnology, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 2003. Entitled “Visual Attention, from bio-inspired Modelling to real time implementation”, his PhD thesis was the result of multi-disciplinary projects conducted with computer scientists, embedded system engineers and neuroscientists.
After some years of industrial experience in the field of software quality assurance, namely usability, security and performance, Nabil Ouerhani joined the University of Applied Sciences in Western Switzerland in 2013 with the mandate to reinforce the capabilities of the university in technology transfer to the national industrial tissue, one of the main missions of the University of Applied Sciences. He is currently leading a research group active in the fields of human-computer and human-environment interactions. Nabil Ouerhani is author or co-author of over 40 publications.
