Mr. Álvaro Nadal Belda Is the Minister of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda of Spain. Prior to that, he was State Secretary, Director of the Economic Office of the President of Spain, from 24-12- 2011 to 3-11- 2016.

He was also the deputy Director for programming and assessment of European Funds at the Ministry of Economy in 2004 and, Advisor to the Secretary of State of Budget and Expenditure of the Ministry of Treasury. Mr. Nadal was Economic Advisor at the Spanish Embassy in Israel from 2001 to 2003 and Advisor to the Ministers of Economy (1998-2001) and Industry and Energy (1997).

He was elected Member of the Spanish Parliament at the XI legislature and re-elected for the current legislature (XII). He was deputy for the Albacete province and Spokesperson to the Economic Commission of the Spanish Parliament.

Since 2004 he is also the Secretary of Economy and Employment of the Popular Party. Mr. Nadal is member of the High Corps of Spanish State Economists and Trade Experts and he has taught classes at the Instituto de Empresa (IE) in Madrid.

He holds a Degree in Laws and in Economy (ICADE) and studied Doctorate courses at Harvard University (1997-1998).

He is fluent in Spanish, English, German and French.
