M. Sc. Visa Vallivaara has been a Cybersecurity Research Scientist at the VTT, Technical Research Centre of Finland, since 05/2013. He got his M. Sc. in applied mathematics in 2014 with minors in statistics and information processing science and also received 600€ stipend from NATO from his Thesis. His research interests focus on blockchains, cryptography and authentication. He is doing PhD of the security and optimization of blockchains consensus mechanisms at the University of Oulu. He has published 6 research papers, including a blockchain paper: ”Evaluating the Efficiency of Blockchains in IoT with Simulations”. In January he was an invited speaker in the blockchain panel at the RDA EU Data Innovation Forum in Brussels.
