Arturo Medela holds a degree in
Telecommunications Engineering received in 2007 from the University of
Cantabria, Spain. He is responsible for R&D in TST working mainly in
the field of wireless communications systems in both national and European
projects. His activities cover network protocol development, cellular network
architecture and design, energy efficiency improvements, evaluation of NFC
payments and the inclusion of IoT devices in Smart City, having acted as
project manager in the deployment of a monitoring and management system in
wineries and vineyards, and in projects tightly related to the next step in the
evolution of the smart cities, involving citizens in that process through novel
experimentation platforms.
