Dr. Jaime Jesus Ruiz is a senior researcher in telecommunications and video technologies, Jaime holds a doctorate in Industrial Engineering, he holds a Telecommunications Engineer Degree from Politecnica University of Madrid and a Master in Marketing and Commercial Management from ESIC of Madrid. Jaime is researching in 5G end-to-end new services optimizations, mainly involving new video technologies. Jaime now is a member of the Distributed Reality Solutions team in Nokia Bell Labs Madrid. Jaime has a deep experience and knowledge on mobile and fiber services deployment, video performance solutions involving distributed storage and streaming technology. His research interest will be focused in new 5G architectures, performance video solutions, low latency implementations, high performant configurations and massive video storage and streaming, mainly focused on 360 Video and Immersive VR video. Before joining Bell Labs, Jaime was leading in Nokia several video research projects focused on video delivery and video Quality, like MONALIS, IPNQSIS, MOCAVIS, TRANSVIDEOADAPT, CENIT VISION, CENIT i3media, ITEA JEDI, SAVAGE, ICARE, VIDEOCELS. He has obtained a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering on multimedia headend environments. Jaime was working on Telefonica for more than 10 years and he also was teaching several computer science subjects at the Alfonso X El Sabio University in Madrid.
