Dave Raggett is a technical member of staff for W3C/ERCIM and based in the UK. He has been involved in work on web standards since 1992. He champions the Web of Things and the Web of Data, and has a special interest in automating human-like reasoning and learning as the chair of the W3C Cognitive AI Community Group. He has extensive experience of European projects and is currently involved in the SDN-microSense, GATEKEEPER and TERMINET Horizon 2020 projects.

The tutorial will introduce the idea of semantic interoperability and the use of ontologies. Participants will learn what an ontology is and how it can be used.
