Research Assistant
Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden
Participates in 1 Session

Mathias Schneider (M. Eng.) graduated from the University of Applied Sciences, Amberg-Weiden (OTH-AW), with the thesis "Online and microservice-based data throughput prediction framework in context of mobile-based vehicle-to-server communication for automated driving" with a Master of Engineering (Industrial Information Technology) in 2018. Besides his studies, he acquired professional expertise numerous years at the Siemens AG in Fürth, Germany, in the field of modern HMI runtime (WinCC Comfort and Advance) development, with focus on continuous integration and deployment. Moreover, he interned in a research team for industrial automation system of the Siemens AG in Princeton, USA, contributing on service-oriented architectures for automation engineering software.

Starting in 2018 as a Research Assistant in the Automotive Research group supervised by Prof. Dr. Alfred Höß at OTH-AW, he worked on microservices-based processing pipelines in context of LTE throughput prediction by the means of geostatistical and machine learning based models for the national project Ko-HAF (Cooperative-Highly Automated Driving) and AutoDrive (H2020 ECSEL JU) published in several conference papers. Lately, he is researching in the field of edge computing for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in the project AI4DI (H2020 ECSEL JU).
