Dr. Maria Chiara Magnanini obtained the PhD cum laude in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, with a thesis about the stochastic approximate analytical modelling of asynchronous multi-stage manufacturing systems. She is a visiting scholar at the University of Texas at Austin on the research topic of robust control of multi-stage manufacturing processes, focusing on applications related to semiconductor fabrication. Since 2020 she is Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Politecnico di Milano. Her research field includes stochastic methodologies for the design, analysis and performance evaluation of manufacturing systems, advanced models for the robust control of multi-stage processes for the product quality improvement, reference architecture and data model for distributed multi-source data gathering from shop-floor. She is WP leader in European research projects (H2020) and research leader in national projects and industrial collaborations. She is member of AITEM (the Italian Association of Manufacturing) and Research Affiliate of CIRP (International Academy for Production Engineering).
