Dr. Alenka Gucek is a researcher and data visualization engineer at Jozef Stefan Institute in Slovenia. She has more than 10 years of experience in anomaly detection of timeseries from the fields of electrophysiology and live cell microscopy. She obtained PhD in Biosciences from University of Ljubljana and has been a postdoc at Uppsala University, researching cell to cell communication. Making a career switch to data visualization and joining JSI, her work is focused on water management and climate change visualizations. Since 2018, she has been a lecturer in physiology and data visualization at Uppsala University.
