Thanasis Korakis
Thanasis Korakis received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from the University of Athens in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Thessaly, Greece, in 2005. In the summer of 2004, he was a Visiting Researcher with the CSE Department, University of California - Riverside. From 2005 to 2006, he was a Research Scientist with the ECE Department, Polytechnic University, NY. In the same department, he served as a Research Assistant Professor from 2006 to 2012. He is currently a Professor with the ECE Department, University of Thessaly, Greece. His interests are in the wireless networking field with an emphasis on access layer protocols, cooperative networks, quality-of-service provisioning, network management, and experimental platforms. From 2007 to 2012, he was a Voting Member of the IEEE 802.16 Standardization Group. He has received several awards, including the best paper awards in WiNTECH 2013, GREE 2013, and CloudComp 2015.
