Ricardo is the Head of Innovation & Development in CeADAR. He leads the Innovation and Development Group in CeADAR which focuses on the development of industry-applied research projects in advanced data analytics and AI for a large range of companies in a variety of verticals. Ricardo has been Lecturer and Researcher in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship in the area of Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0. Prior to joining CeADAR he was Adjunct Lecturer and Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher in Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University. Ricardo holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Leon (Spain), an M.Sc. in Networks and Distributed Systems and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). His research background includes areas such as advanced machine learning, wireless networking, distributed systems, signal processing, sensor data fusion and real-time data analytics, with application to inter-disciplinary national and European research and innovation projects on a large range of verticals. Ricardo has experience in entrepreneurship, as founder of a startup company and promoter of AI spin-outs in the CeADAR centre and is active in transforming research into innovation.
