Dr Daniela Iacopino is a senior researcher and leader of the “Integrated Nanomaterials” team at the Tyndall National Institute. Daniela is a Funded Investigator in the SFI national centres of excellence CONNECT and VistaMilk. Her research interest focus on fabrication of nanoscale materials and their integration for sensing, wearable and energy storage applications. Within her research team, particular attention is devoted to the development of strategies for green materials fabrication and integration, towards sustainable IoT solutions. Daniela has participated (both as coordinator and partner) to a large number of EU projects, spanning from FP7 to H2021 EU frameworks. She is also the recipient of a number of national grants (SFI, ERC, EI). Daniela has published 83 scientific manuscripts, graduated four PhD students and supervised/mentored over 20 master students and staff researchers. She is the chair of Empowering Women@Tyndall (EW@T), which supports Tyndall’s female staff and students to build their confidence and increase their visibility.
