Luis Usatorre (male) Industrial Engineer by the Basque Country University and Master in Production Plants Management by the Catalonia Polytechnic university and Master in Energy Efficiency in Industry by the SPRI and UPV, works in Tecnalia as Project manager. Previous experience of more than 15 years on Industrial companies and over 10 years as project manager on Automation of Production Lines on automotive industry in Sweden, USA, UK, France, India and China, leading work teams and managing projects. Since joining R&D activities in 2007, has worked as Engineering Manager in EUVE (European Virtual Engineering) research centre and has a large experience on research projects being Internal manager and WP manager of 7 FP7 European projects –amongst others KAP and VFF on the FOF domain-, 4 H2020 projects (ICP4LIFE, SCORPIUS, CONNECTED FACTORIES and MARKET 4.0) and numerous Basque and Spanish projects. He has worked on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in simulation and optimization tools, and application of ICTs in virtual scenarios. He is a specialist on automation and simulation, and has worked on the implementation of AI algorithms in industrial scenarios. Member of EFFRA and chairman of the AIOTI WG11 on Smart Manufacturing.
