Oniro: A Vendor Neutral, Open Source OS for Next-Gen IoT Devices
My Session Status
In a world that is constantly changing, we believe that it is essential to drive forward a technology concept that specifically and deeply meets the consumers, devices makers and developer’s needs. Today the IoT industry needs to defragment and connect the increasing number of devices that every day are put on the market. The idea of a fully-connected world can become real by developing a vendor neutral, royalty free and well-supported ecosystem that embraces the Open Source philosophy, that's the Oniro idea. In this talk we’ll introduce Oniro, the next-generation OpenHarmony compatible operating system that empowers interconnection and collaboration between smart devices globally.
Enabling effective collaboration between smart devices facilitates as many use cases as your imagination can devise. In this talk we provide one such real use case that the Oniro Project team have worked together on, with the creation of a multi-board, wearable DJ Station to empower DJs more freedom and creativity to express their music. We discuss the implementation of the Broadcast station, the wearable component, the MIDI transport mechanism and the challenges we encountered during the creation journey.
Join us on a journey to deliver smooth simple interactions that are reliable and secure across a wide array of scenarios. Let us collaboratively make development of all scenario use cases enjoyable with the help of new distributed technologies.
