Introduction

Artificial intelligence ingests existing data to generate new data. AI technologies continue to revolutionize industries, but questions surrounding the ownership of data and the protection of intellectual property have become increasingly complex. In this session, the speakers will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, data ownership, and intellectual property rights. They will also discuss the legal, ethical, and practical aspects in the context of AI innovation, shedding light on key issues and potential solutions.

Key questions and objectives

  • Who owns the data generated by AI algorithms? What are the different doctrines?
  • What are the intellectual property considerations of AI-generated content, and how can organizations protect their IP rights while investing in AI innovation?
  • How do existing legal frameworks, such as copyright and trade secret protection laws, apply to AI technologies?
