This concept has especially reached legal milestones through the recognition and solidification of privacy and data protection as a fundamental human right in contemporary legal systems. With this engaging session, attendees will embark on a journey to uncover the principles and foundations highlighting the right to privacy, exploring its significance in shaping individual freedoms and fostering prosperity.  

Key questions and objectives 

  • What are the roots of privacy? Where does it come from? 
  • How has the concept of privacy evolved over time, and what are the milestones that have shaped it? 
  • How has the right to privacy historically intersected with other fundamental rights, such as freedom of speech and expression?
