Dr. Eunsook Eunah Kim is currently leading Research and Development team of Device Gateway SA, an SME in Switzerland focusing on diverse IoT interoperability solutions and services. She joined Device Gateway in 2015 and has been working on several EU Research projects related to IoT on FIRE facilities, 5G, security & privacy, smart city, etc. She also serves for European Commission as an independent expert since 2009 and has been involving in several EU projects. Before joining Device Gateway, she worked in Martel GmbH in Switzerland as a senior consultant working on a few EU projects and was a senior researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in Korea for about 12 years, where she researched in wide areas of information and communication technologies. She also gained one year of working experience in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in USA. She has been working on diverse topics of computer networking area such as multicast, VoIP, sensor networks, Internet of Things, Future Networks, etc. Beside her research career, she held a vice chair position from 2009 to 2012 at ITU-T SG5 WP3 where ICT & Climate change issues are handled. She also actively involved in ITU-T SG13, Joint Coordination Activities on Internet of Things (JCA-IoT) and IETF, where she produced a few international standards on sensor network technologies. She is the recipient of two Minister Awards from the Korean government: the Standards Winners Award from Ministry of Knowledge Economy in 2011 and the Outstanding Contributors Award from the Korean Communication Commission in 2009. She received her M.S in Computer Science in 1998 and her Ph.D in 2001 in the same field from Sookmyung Women´s University in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
