Ralf-Michael Wagner
Dr. Ralf Michael Wagner is Chief Operating Officer for Plant Data Services, a business division, Siemens. In this position he holds responsibility for the future development of the data based industrial service range of Siemens.
He began his career as a data processing specialist at Siemens in-house domain of IT. He continued his career working abroad. On his return he founded and incorporated an internet startup whose path led back to Siemens as a Senior Consultant with Siemens Management Consulting followed by various positions on the executive team of the Industrial Division of the Siemens Corporation as well as its affiliated companies.
»Plant Data Services increases the effectiveness and efficiency of machinery and equipment by means of intelligent data analytics thus sharing an essential contribution towards digitalization« says Wagner. But there is so much more to him. He is responsible for the development of the open ”Siemens Cloud for Industry“ platform by the name of MindShpere, which will expand Siemens range. According to Wagner this specialty lays in the formation of an open IT-Ecosystem, because OEMs and application developers can access the platform via open interface using it for their own services and analytics. To Wagner the focus is clearly on the service approach – he wants to offer a specific additional value to industrial customers by continuous acquisition, preprocessing and analysis. Intelligent pattern identifications avoid not only possible incidents well in advance but also assist in solving undetected energy-saving potentials. »And the security will remain enhanced throughout the application of the latest Cyber-Security-Technologies«, says Wagner.
