Helmi Ben Hmida
Dr. Helmi Ben Hmida is an IoT Expert, researcher and project manager at the Competence Center for Smart Living & Biometric Technologies at Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD, Germany. Fraunhofer is a member of several European consortium and alliances in relation with the Internet of Things, especially the European Alliance of IoT Innovation (AIOTI) and the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP-AHA).
He had obtained his master from Rennes University-France in the field of artificial intelligence in 2009. Till end 2012, he has successfully achieved his Ph.D. in cooperation between the Mainz University in Germany and the Burgundy university in France. Since 2014, he works for Fraunhofer Society as the largest application-oriented research organization in Europe.
Digital Transformation & Internet of things (IoT) are his main field of expertise. From a policy perspective, he has contributed to the creation of several roadmaps and studies to empower the use of ICT technologies in daily life and quantify the expected impact from a social and economic perspective. From a technological standpoint, he has also lead several European and German projects for the innovation and the digitalization of different sectors touching the society, especially Smart Building, City, Mobility, Assisted systems, and Energy economy. His contributions have led to the innovation & the deployment of several smart technologies for more than 6000 users in 9 European countries.
