Dr. Emilia Tantar
Emilia currently leads as COO the operations of Black Swan LUX, University of Luxembourg’s spin-off from the SECAN-Lab team, she co-founded in 2015. Black Swan LUX provides AI enabled IoT personal security, through SafeLive.
With a PhD in Computer Science, obtained with honors from University of Lille 1, she actively pursues since years TechTransfer from academia, with a focus on AI, IoT and security. Already while at the University of Luxembourg she founded and sustained together with CREOS the SCADA security lab, preparing for the security challenges of SDN. In the early years as representative for the PhD students in engineering from University of Lille 1, France, her efforts were directed towards industrial integration and transfer growth potential of PhDs, see EuroDocInfo (http://www.lifl.fr/eurodocinfo08/). She is actively involved in the AI role, especially Evolutionary Computation in Practice, as part of panels at GECCO (http://www.sigevo.org/gecco-2014/ecp.html) or as co-founder and editor for the EVOLVE International conference series (http://www.evolve-conference.org) and Springer volumes. As awarded healthTech provider Dr. Tantar’s current research focus is on the future of IoT security for the personal safety, security and prevention, in order to serve the many and empower the (senior) users.
