Mauro Dragone
Mauro Dragone is an Assistant Professor with the Research Institute of Signals, Sensors and Systems (ISSS), School of Engineering & Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. His research expertise includes robotics, internet of things and software engineering.
Between 2011 and 2014, Dr. Dragone led the FP7 project RUBICON (Robotic UBIquitous Cognitive Network, fp7rubicon.eu), which brought together experts in cognitive robotics, machine learning and wireless sensor networks, to build cognitive robotic ecologies, i.e. systems made up of sensors, actuators and robots that together learn to accomplish complex tasks. RUBICON has posed the foundations for modular systems that can adapt to new environments and to changing and evolving requirements with minimum supervision, leading to cheaper, smarter and more useful applications for IoT and Robotic technologies.
