Comic books and graphic novels are no longer the purview of just superheroes. It’s now a medium for all genres and age groups. Professional comic book Writer and Illustrator, William O’Neill Gentleman Nerd, will show you how, -and why- to translate your novel or screenplay into comic book form. Topics will include; script format, page layout, understanding the role of your artist, and methods of locating and hiring talent. You’ll also receive tips on publishing options, printing and costs.

O’Neill is co-founder of the comic book company Hurricane Entertainment. He was the initial creator and artist of the series CHASSIS and co-created the critically acclaimed VIOLENT MESSIAHS. Both series were published through Hurricane Ent. at Image Comics. O’Neill wrote the comic book series JOHN CARPENTER’S SNAKE PLISSKEN CHRONICLES, produced in partnership with Carpenter, Kurt Russell and the late Debra Hill.

In the film industry O'Neill has been involved in developing several projects, most notably an animated series for Cartoon Network and a sci-fi series at Jim Henson Productions. He also teamed with 4 time Academy Award winner Ben Burtt (WALL-E, STAR WARS, INDIANA JONES) to develop his property CHASSIS as a feature film.

As an illustrator William’s clients have included: Lucasfilm, Acme Archives, Netflix, Printed in Blood, Fox Television, MGM, New Line, Jim Henson Productions, Topps, Inkworks, Hanna-Barbera, Cross-Gen, Image Comics, Rittenhouse, and Warner Bros. William is currently working on several new projects including his first novel. He is presently writing a screenplay based on his latest comic book series, a sci-fi comedy titled “VEXXED: A DICK FROM OUTER SPACE.”
