When:
3:00 PM, Sunday 28 Jan 2018 (50 minutes)
Where:
This presentation will explore the symbiotic relationship between Broadway and Television that flourished in the mid-1950s, when it was not unusual for a “Spectacular” (what we today would call a TV “Special”) to draw an audience of 70 million viewers! The program will include video clips of legendary Broadway performers who also achieved stardom on TV, including Mary Martin, Barbara Cook, Ethel Merman, Carol Lawrence, and Alfred Drake. All session attendees will have the opportunity to enter a free lottery to win a CD or DVD from the Video Artists International Broadway collection.
