Alex Timbers is a two-time Tony-nominated director and writer and the recipient of the 2019 Drama League Founders Award for Excellence in Directing. Credits include Moulin Rouge! The Musical, John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City for Netflix, Peter and the Starcatcher, Beetlejuice, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and Here Lies Love. Alex’s work on Moulin Rouge! The Musical is dedi­cated to the memory of his late collaborator and friend Michael Friedman (1975–2017) whose work exhibited truth, beauty, freedom and love.
