Sean Tecson is a theatre administrator with a background in theatre education, digital communications, and database management. Originally from Houston, TX, he currently works in Roundabout Theatre Company's Education Department in New York City. At the Roundabout, he collects, processes, and manages data (surveys, demographics, reports, and outcomes) for education programming, focusing on the technical theatre workforce training program, and coordinates the department’s professional development workshops for school administrators, teachers, and teaching artists. From the end of 2016 to early 2018 Sean was an A.R.T./New York Creative Opportunity Fellow and worked with the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York's development department to fundraise for the organization’s services that provide training and resources for more than 400 nonprofit theatre companies in New York City. In addition to his work in theatre arts administration, Sean freelances as a director and producer in New York City. He recently co-produced From a Distance, a one-woman song cycle about relationships in the digital age and what it means to stay connected with your loved ones from a distance, in the 2018 International New York Fringe Festival. He directed and co-produced Poor Boys' Chorus in the 2017 Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, a New York Times pick of top 15 summer theatre festivals. Prior to moving to New York, Sean worked as a teaching artist at ZACH Theatre in Austin, TX and was the Engaging Research Co-Chair for the 2015 Cohen New Works Festival, the nation's largest collegiate theater festival, and guided artists through new forms of dramaturgical research and curated spaces for audiences to think critically about the development of more than 30 works of theatre. He has a B.A. in Theatre and Dance from The University of Texas at Austin.
