Rachel Zweig is a Brooklyn-based theatre-maker and theatre educator. She holds a M.A. in Educational Theatre at NYU Steinhardt and BA in Psychology from Vassar College. At Vassar, Rachel performed in and directed musicals, plays and experimental works, and was a member of Britomartis, a devised-theatre troupe. Rachel has taught and directed theatre in schools since 2014, from Chinese International School in Hong Kong, to PS 889 and MS 890 in Brooklyn, where she currently teaches, and developed the schools’ Pre K-5 and 6-8 theatre programs, respectively. In addition to teaching, Rachel continues to pursue her artistry as a theatre-maker. She produced and designed the Hong Kong premiere of Shrew, a one-woman feminist response to Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, and stage-managed Enthroned at the NYC Fringe. Most recently, Rachel performed in Afterwork Theater’s production of Cabaret and Rooftop Musical Society’s production of Into the Woods.
