Creating diversity within the theatre industry is more complicated than it looks on paper. In this panel, Devanand Janki hosts a discussion about the crucial need to give new works from diverse voices the opportunity to be developed and put in the spotlight. Devanand is the founder and Artistic Director of the theatre company Live & In Color (theatreincolor.org), which develops new plays and musicals that promote and celebrate diversity. Focusing on what diversity actually looks and feels like in the theatre community, Devanand and his fellow panelists will discuss what it takes to create diverse theatre and why it is important for underrepresented communities.
