She / Her / Hers

Participates in 3 items

A second-time BroadwayCon panel curator, Sydney Paige Milligan is a theatre journalist / blogger / social media content creator / nerd from Chicago, Illinois. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Theatre, a degree she has put to good use as a multilingual and multicultural theatre artist. Since 2017, she has operated her own platform Paige Eight Blog where she writes fine arts reviews and about all things theatre related (she also innovated the "Broadway Bounding" concept of emulating theatrical costuming and inspiration in everyday dress with her blog). You can find her (pen in hand and most likely outfitted in theatre-inspired fashion) at almost every play, musical or theatre-related event / venue in the greater Chicagoland area providing media coverage - Sydney has worked alongside Broadway in Chicago, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and The Jeff Awards (which she fondly refers to as the "Chi-Town Tonys"), among many other theatre companies and houses as press. Sydney prides herself on using her voice to provide a bold and compassion-centered critical lens on drama and the theatre industry; and advocating for the dismantling of systemic racism and advancement / greater representation and respect of marginalized communities (especially Black, Brown, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ communities) in theatre. She is a member of the Beverly Theatre Guild (the oldest community theatre in the city of Chicago ) and still performs onstage as frequently as she can (most recently she was seen in James Baldwin's "Blues for Mr. Charlie," Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," and BTG's productions of "Grease" and "The Wizard of Oz"). Outside of theatre, Sydney loves traveling and spending time with her family and twin Maltese rescue pups. You can follow all her biracial, bilingual "Theatre Syd" high jinks at her website www.paigeeight.com and on social media across all platforms at @sydneypaigeeight.
