This presentation will focus on comparing the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling and the American deaf world. Both communities have sought out ways to connect without being part of the majority culture through establishing areas where their cultures can thrive (eg Godric's Hollow). Members of both groups are also sent away to school in order to be with others like themselves so that learning can begin. Ana will also compare Squibs with Children of Deaf Adults. In this presentation you will learn more about each culture and how each could be a metaphor for the other.
