Just Keep Swimming: A Motivational Talk for New Authors

Theme:
Formal Programming
When:
4:00 PM, Saturday 16 Jul 2011 EDT (50 minutes)
Where:
This is a motivational talk for new authors, designed to help writers beat the “I suck” mentality. Writing is a lonely process. But we know how it is; we’ve been there. We understand that writing is hard, criticism is rough, and rejection is the worst, so we’re here to help you keep your head above water and keep positive while you improve your writing skills and wade through the publication process. We will be using exercises, skits, and plenty of good advice to help writers become more confident in their writing, to understand criticism and how to make it work FOR you instead of against you, and how to take the negatives and turn them into positives for your writing.
