Together, presenter and participants will discuss the definition and key components of transmedia storytelling; how the Potter novels set the stage for transmedia activities within fandom and popular culture; and explore how other fandoms and franchises have done this in similar and different ways. Due to the serendipitous convergence of circumstances, technology, and love, Rowling and formats to create new narratives. We will examine how and why Rowling and Warner Brothers set the stage for other fandoms and franchises to support, allow or limit new content in similar and different ways, including the role of corporations, copyright, and original author throughout the process.
