What:
Presentation
When:
9:00 AM, Saturday 10 Aug 2013 BST (50 minutes)
Joanne Rowling and Joss Whedon have much in common. Both born in the mid sixties, they experienced success in the late nineties with stories that created a universe of realistic fantasy and characters so rich and complex that many fans considered them cherished friends. Both are respectful of their fans; they not only allowed, but encouraged fans to join in the creative process, at a time when the internet permitted an easily accessible playground and bonding space.

In this interactive presentation, participants will explore the concept and principles of transmedia storytelling as applied to the Potterverse and Whedonverse. Participants will have learn about the transmedia revolution in which we are engaged by poking and prodding Buffy, Harry and friends.
