Emily first read Harry Potter in the spring of 2000 (shortly before the publication of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and joined the Harry Potter fandom in fall of 2001. Since then, she's written some (very bad) fanfiction, served as a moderator at the Sugar Quill, participated as second chair for the Ron/Hermione side in the Nimbus 2003 live shipping debate, co-coordinated Scribbulus: The Leaky Cauldron's Essay Project, and currently serves as an editor for LeakyNews, covering Jane Austen-related news. In real life, she earned an MA degree in British Literature, wrote her MA thesis on the Lord of the Rings, and named her car after Elizabeth Bennet. She also likes to knit, play in her family's handbell choir, and watch Doctor Who.
