Classic stories often feature homogenous casts of characters, even though the world is as diverse now as it's always been. How do our authors make sure their worlds are as inclusive as possible, even when that's not the main point of the story? How do they remain respectful of other backgrounds while making sure to include characters who aren't author carbon-copies? We'll tackle these questions and more as we examine what the publishing world is doing to tell stories that look more like the real world.
