Natasha Cole-Leonard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the Community College of Baltimore County. Her area of specialization is twentieth century African American literature. Since 2011, Dr. Cole-Leonard has served as the Honors Program Director on the Catonsville campus. She has twice presented at the NCHC annual conference on the topic of diversity. In 2012, her paper Reading Between the Lines: Defining “Diversity” and Interpreting Federally Mandated Student Demographic Data examined how student demographic data is used to measure diversity objectives in undergraduate programs. Specifically, she addressed how such broad categories as Black/African American can often obscure the underrepresentation of specific groups within such categories. In 2013, she participated in the NCHC Conference Roundtable: Why Diversity Still Matters.
