Sheila Jones serves as the Dean of Instructional Support at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), overseeing the Department of Experiential Learning (Honors Program, Study Away, and Service Learning) and Center for Teaching Excellence as well as the areas of transfer and articulation, curriculum development, learning outcomes assessment, and academic program review.   Prior to moving to Michigan, Sheila served as the founding District Director of The Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors College of Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (a program which had previously been an Honors Institute). She also has served as President of the Florida Collegiate Honors Council. Her interests in honors include developing and strengthening the two-year honors community at NCHC, building stronger transfer pathways for community college honors students, honors curriculum development (first-year and capstone seminars as well as interdisciplinary honors courses and honors and general education), and the future of honors programs and colleges.
