This research investigates how a major reef building coral species’ metabolome changes in response to ocean acidification caused by anthropogenic climate change. The metabolome characterizes the chemical processes that keep an organism living. The metabolomic response is measured by changing the temperature and pH gradient and using 1H NMR analysis.
