Real crime is a guilty pleasure for many of us. The news surrounds us and we feel bound as citizens to know. We also want to know go bad folks can go but often find we share characteristics with them. This session will show how the serial killer film genre gets inside the heads of the likes of Jeffrey Dahmer and co and explores how their intersectional identities impacts on their crimes and filmic representations. Please note this session will feature clips and is suitable for adults only.
 
Charlie Oughton is a journalist for Real Crime magazine, a historical crime story teller and teaches media at a variety of universities.
