Eliza Chandler is an Assistant Professor in the School of Disability Studies at Ryerson University, a disability artist and curator, and past Artistic Director of Tangled Art + Disability, Canada’s first gallery dedicated to showcasing disability art and advancing accessible curatorial practices. She is co-director of the project, Bodies in Translation: Activist Art, Technology, and Access to Life. This 7-year, multi-partnered research project considers the relationship between art, accessibility, and social change as it contributes to developing activist art, aesthetics, curriculum, and accessible curatorial practices. Chandler sits on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Arts Council and regularly lectures, interviews, and consults regarding disability arts and politics in Canada.
