Participates in 1 Session

Mark S. Fox’s research career has focused primarily on two questions: 1. How to solve “real world” problems in the presence of constraints and 2. How to represent the knowledge required to solve “real world” problems. One area where he’s applying these questions is on representing knowledge and constraint-based reasoning in the context of Smart Cities. He has used ontology engineering methods to model urban knowledge from Transportation to Social Services to City Indicators. He has applied Constraint-Directed Reasoning to urban design and the analysis of city performance.
