I have been working as a professional game designer in the industry for the last 6 years, and with game design generally for the last 12. I am originally from Pasco but moved to Redmond after high school to attend DigiPen Institute of Technology to get a degree in game design. From there I got my first job working as a missions designer on Middle Earth: Shadow of War. I then transitioned to 343 where I was able to again work on the missions team for Halo: Infinite. Most recently I have found myself back at Monolith Productions as a designer on the recently announced Wonder Woman game.
Over that time and those projects I have learned a lot about what game design is, or more importantly what it isn't, and I am excited to be able to share some of that this weekend with anyone trying to start their own journey to being a game designer.
