Arlene Henriques has an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Walla Walla Community College but her real passion is in widening cultural awareness in the Tri-Cities. She has studied Japanese, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Sinhalese, American Sign Language and is currently studying Sumerian Cuneiform and Arabic. She loves learning about everything and has taken part in many events and clubs in the area. Her interests, however, are not just local: she has extended her travels to cover Canada, Asia, and Europe. This year she's headed to Andalusia, Spain, to study the intersectionality of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.  She has been a member of The Realms of Avalon, The Kingdoms of Chivalry, Phi Theta Kappa, ASCBC Leadership Council, and local Japanese, Anthropology, Art, History, and Astronomy Clubs as well as a current member in good standing of the USS Antares. She designs costumes (once dressing a KNDU Newscaster as a Klingon at Radcon in 15 minutes flat for live TV), reads a lot of books, takes far too many photographs of life, enjoys sewing, cross stitching, knitting, board and video games, arts and crafts, astronomy, Egyptology, attending cons, taking classes at UChicago Oriental Institute Online, CBC, and absolutely loves traveling!
