Cheryl Slay Carr, J.D., is Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Music Business in the Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville TN, where she provides oversight of college operations and teaches courses in law and the entertainment industry. Prior to entering higher education Carr managed a progressive law practice serving a range of independent and emerging entertainment industry clients. She is co-author of the bookMusic Copyright Law, is a contributing author ofTrademark Infringement Remedies, and her newest book release is titledMusic Business Careers: Career Duality in the Creative Industries. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, a Master of Public Administration from Clark-Atlanta University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, and completed the Harvard Law School Program of Continuing Education for Lawyers in Intellectual Property. Professor Carr is also a vocalist with over 25 years of performance experience.
